‘Chelidóni’ (pronounced (‘Helithoni’) and refers to the beautiful migratory birds known in English as Swallows, is a little beauty of a place that really needs to be seen to be appreciated. Set amongst its very own olive grove, You really feel the Alonnisos energy...
Situated in a magical part of Alonissos, away from the hustle and bustle on the outskirts of a little old development known as Mourtero. This part of the island is quickly becoming a sort after location being central geographically and thus access to the more discerning beaches and near the stunning harbours of Kalamakia and Steni Vala.
Mourtero is a small settlement among the olive groves on a hillside, with panoramic views of the island of Peristera. The property can be found down a short drive along a nice track just off the main road that starts 120 meters after the small church of Saint Nectarios, on our left as we descend towards the fishing port Kalamakia. There you will be spoilt for choice with some wonderful, waters edge tavernas serving up fresh catch of the day.
This beautiful jewel of a house nestled on the gentle slopes of Mourtero has been lovingly built to a very high standard.
Comprising of a large, wide welcoming hallway, opening to the living room/dining area to the left, a well equipped kitchen straight ahead, and to the right the hall narrows to the bathroom, and two double bedrooms each with their own balcony. The current owners have chosen just to use Mother Nature but connecting to the mains should not be a problem.
The property has also some hand made Italian floor tiles (Ceramica Artistica Solimene, established since 1947) which gives the illusion of ‘walking on water’.
Air-conditioning can be found in all the bedrooms and living area, although the house has plenty of windows on most sides to allow the breeze to flow through the property.
